Hawk Walks

Classic Hawk Walk
A classic hawk walk is a two hour walk through the farmlands and various types of woodland found in and around our farm at Mid Wales Falconry. As falconers for that period of time you will be in charge of either our male Harris hawk, “Merlin”, or the more tenacious female, “Saffron”. Flying these birds through the trees you will experience both hawks working together as well as working with our trusted Springer Spaniel, “Holly”.

Medieval Hawk Walk
A similar experience to the classic hawk walk listed above, only this time as falconers we will be out with “Jake” a tiercel Goshawk. Once again “Holly” the Springer spaniel will be employed and with this experience, you as observers will see the ultimate hunting bird in action. During the course of the two hours we will take you on a trip back to the medieval times, explaining how hunting techniques have changed or not changed over the last 400 years.

Eagle Hawk Walk
A completely different sort of experience to the Classic and Medieval hawk walks. This time we are out with a young Chilean Blue Eagle. Taking a stroll through one of many picturesque valleys around the centre we will experience “Matilda” either floating effortlessly through the tree tops or failing that, going upon the soar in search of her favourite quarry, rabbits and hares.
