Hunting Days

The hunting days we run at Mid Wales Falconry are only available through the recognized hunting seasons, this would be from early September until the end of January. In the morning we would start out with both our hunting Harris' hawks, “Merlin” and “Saffron” (see Classic hawk walk). After lunch we would travel to a different area where both “Gelert” the Goshawk (see Medieval hawk walk), and “Shadow” a male American Red-Tailed hawk would be flown. All these hawks are very capable hunting birds and are either worked over dogs or ferrets for maximum effect.

Also available are individual ferreting days and half days.

Again, all four of the above birds will be utilised for just flying over our ferrets. With 600 acres to work with, you will never ferret the same warren twice, thereby giving the hawks the very best of flights.
