Lantra Falconry Course
This particular course is run over 2 ½ days and is designed to take the individual through the basic health, hygeine, and husbandry of birds of prey and owls, as well as understanding basic falconry techniques.
Two Day Introduction To Falconry
This course is designed as a taster for what you can expect as a practising falconer. All the basic information you require to keep and train a bird of prey is given during the two day course in theory and in practical experience. This course is the perfect chance to see what is involved in keeping and training raptors and will help you decide if you have the time and apptetude to be a falconer.
Four Day Basic Falconry
These four days covers all the aspects of training a bird of prey from the moment you start to acquire equipment , build a mews and purchae a hawk to the days when you are hunting the fully trained raptor. The course also includes information on raptor health and disease, the law and the recovery of lost hawks.
The Apprenticeship Scheme
The scheme is a twenty day course that can be taken over a twelve month period, giving you the flexibility to work at your own pace. The scheme is very detailed and allows the student ample time to practise the skills required to become a very competant falconer.
